- The original title of the document: either in Cyrillic or in Latin.
- Reference of the document: fond, inventory, unit, and page(s).
- Geographic data: country, province, county, parish, village, manor, farmstead, number of real estate; town, district, street.
- Statements of responsibility: name and position of the cartographer, date of composition of the document and the data of the matrix map.
- Elements of form: material designation (map, plan, view, table, profile etc.); theme of the map, presence of legends and illustrations.
- Publication data: data of the time and place of publication, name of the publisher (only in case of printed maps).
- Originality: data of the degree of originality, the date of certification and the name of the certifier institution.
- Mathematical data: relative and textual scales, existence of the craticule (co-ordinate web) and the compass, name of the map projection.
- Physical description: number of pages of the map in a document, their dimensions and material and the method of production.
- Document of description: data of the document. A document of description is a textual document, which, together with the map and the plan, forms a whole. It is compiled to describe the phenomena on the map more in detail (e.g. description books of cadastral plans, border protocols, etc.). Due to their different format, they are preserved separately from maps. Documents of description are described in a different fond or archive.
In addition to the data in the website, information is gathered on the physical state of maps, conditions of preservation and historical toponymics.
The model of description was developed with adherence to following international standards for cartographic materials: ISBD(CM) and RAD.
